In April 2006, Google announced Google SketchUp, a freely-downloadable version of Professional Licensed which debuted in August 2000 as a general purpose 3D content creation tool, with the tagline "3D for Everyone" and envisioning a software program "that would allow design professionals to draw the way they want by emulating the feel and freedom of working with pen and paper in a simple and elegant interface, that would be fun to use and easy to learn, and that would be used by designers to play with their designs in a way that is not possible with traditional design software. It also has user friendly buttons to make it easier to use.
This tool can help you draw out your remoldeling project with great detail. This exercise is helpful in that it brings out details and questions that you had not considered. The free version has limits on how you may export it. Below is a image and link to the Kitchen, Bath, and interior design gallery. This should be a source of ideas and inspiration to you.
Some of the ideas high level sketches but some of them can be extremely detailed views on how to measure your project. This is the same thing we do on graph paper when customers come to us seeking to make a purchase in person. The practice of making a design map is important to make sure the measurements are right. It is the old saying of measure twice cut once. Give it a try or just use plain old graph paper, but whatever you do, measure measure measure. What makes Sketchup great!
